MOVING HEADS (2023)

INTERACTIVE INSTALLATION

WIRELESS WEARABLE DEVICE, MOVING HEAD BEAMS

FIRST DEVELOPED FOR NATIONAL ARTS COUNCIL ARTS x TECH LAB 2021

WHAT IF MOVING HEAD BEAMS BEHAVE LIKE MOVING HUMAN HEADS?

ORIENTATION OF THE HEAD - PITCH, YAW AND ROLL MOVEMENTS - DESCRIBES THE THREE DEGREES OF FREEDOM OF A HUMAN HEAD. LINKING HEAD MOTION TO MECHANICAL MOVEMENTS OF THE LIGHTING FIXTURE, MOVING HEADS IS AN INTERACTIVE SYSTEM FOR PERFORMATIVE LIGHTING CONTROL. MAPPING THE ANGLES OF THE GYROSCOPE IN AN IMU TO THE PAN AND TILT FUNCTIONS OF A MOVING HEAD BEAMS, THE WORK ALLOWS FOR REAL-TIME DATA FLOW TO CONTROL ACTUATED MOTION.
