vOrtex IS A PERFORMATIVE LIGHT INSTALLATION EXPLORING THE EVOLUTION OF VISUAL SPEED AND TEMPORAL FREQUENCIES, PLAYING WITH THE INTENSITIES OF CIRCULAR MOTIONS, ROTATIONS, TURBULENCE AND DISSIPATION. THE VORTEX ORGANISES THE FLOW OF LIGHT AND SOUND, HELD TOGETHER BY THE SINEWS OF FLUID MOVEMENTS.
THE VOLUMETRIC LIGHT-SCULPTURE SERVES AS A TECHNOLOGICAL DISPLAY FOR AN AUDIO-VISUAL PERFORMANCE, IN SYNC WITH SOUNDS OF ROTATION. SPEED AND DIRECTION BECOME MAIN PARAMETERS THAT CHOREOGRAPH THE CIRCULAR MOVEMENTS OF LIGHT AND SOUND. THE CONSTANT ACCELERATION PUTS OUR VISUAL PROCESSING SPEED TO THE TEST, AS OUR EYES TRY TO KEEP UP WITH THE MOVEMENTS ACROSS THE SURFACES.
